California Dragon Boat Association

In the effort to ensure the quality of knowledgeable steers people the CDBA requires all of it's members, who would like to become a steers person, attend a safety class as well as pass a written and practical exam.

Team captains and coaches are responsible for the preparation of their candidates to demonstrate that they can safely and effectively navigate a dragon boat.

Steering and safety instruction, written and practical exams are free of charge for CDBA Members and $50 for non members.

In order to accommodate all paddlers we may have some of these activities in the east bay or in the south bay. Times and location coming in future email.

Prerequisites For Steering Certification:
A signed CDBA waiver with valid standing.
Attend Steering and Safety clinic.
Passing the Steering and Safety written exam.
