Northern California International Dragon Boat Festival
Our crown jewel. The Northern California International Dragon Boat Festival is our largest race in one of the most beautiful race courses in the nation.
This race, draws over 50,000 spectators and more than 100 domestic and international dragon boat teams. For 2 days, the festival is blanketed with large tents, the smell of BBQ and the roar of spectators. Please visit http://www.sfdragonboat.com/ for more information about this amazing festival.
Youth Cup
Once voted one of the top fresh water fishing destinations in the nation, Lake Merced in San Francisco, California is the race course for the nation’s largest high school dragon boat program. Each year local and out of town high school teams come to this historical site to take part in one of the largest high school youth races in the U.S.
Regional Regatta
This is the first race that kicks off the competitive dragon boat season for most local teams. Held at various venues in the San Francisco Bay Area in Northern, California, CDBA teams come out for a day to test their off season training on the local competition. Sprint Race
Local dragon boat teams come together with a day of some fast-paced racing. The sprint races are only 250 meters, covering half the distance from the traditional 500 meters, but at twice the speed and intensity.
College Cup
This race is for the CDBA to reach out to all age groups interested in the sport of dragon boating with participation of college teams from Northern and Southern California.
